VETERINARY EXTERNSHIPS In our effort to continually improve patient care and expand our commitment to veterinary education, Alta Mesa Animal Hospital is now offering externships to veterinary students.   If you are interested in an externship with us please contact our hospital administrator directly. To our clients, if you happen to be visiting while our students are shadowing us please help us extend a warm welcome.

ANIMAL CARE CLASSES

The doctors and staff of Alta Mesa Animal Hospital have decided to offer a regular program on animal care. We feel that it is our responsibility to provide our patients guardians with information on how to better care for their pets. Topics will vary with each meeting from general pet care to common medical problems and their prevention. Our plan is to offer these seminars in our hospital after hours every month. Tours will be available upon request. We hope to make the meetings informational and fun so please join us. Many of the meetings are free of charge (except for the MCC classes as noted below which have a nominal charge),but we do request that you call ahead to reserve your seating and to inquire further about dates and times. If there is a topic you are interested in, feel free to call our office. We are open to input from our local clients on topics for future seminars that they wish to learn more about. PET PORTALS - Now available: Just click on the logo on the home screen.
  Pet Portals are individual, personalized pet health websites that can be made available to all clients who have e-mail addresses listed with our practice. Pet Portals display information about your pets' health, such as vaccinations, diets, and prescriptions and much more including online communication with our hospital to request appointments and prescription refills (please appointments and refill requests will only be available through Pet Portals and is not available through our regular web site), and to contact our hospital about non-urgent pet health issues.

• Pet Portals Articles and FeaturesAs the seasons change, we automatically update your Pet Portals with articles and features that are custom-tailored to your pets' species and age and the time of year.
  
• Pet Portals E-Mail Services
  E-mail services are an integral part of Pet Portals and allow us to automatically send e-mail reminders, pet birthday e-mails, seasonal pet health updates--and more!
  
• Automatic e-mail remindersE-mail reminders are automatically sent before your pet's services come due. If services are not fulfilled, 60- and 90-day overdue e-mail reminders are automatically generated and sent.
• Pet birthday e-mails
  Cheery birthday greetings are personalized with your pet's name and are automatically sent during the pet's birthday month.
• Seasonal pet health messages
  We will e-mail you to advise you of new pet health articles and features as they become available.

Best of all, the service is absolutely free!  When the service is fully active you can sign up by using the Pet Portal button in the top right hand corner of our header.  Please keep checking this button until the service is available.
